Are Valentino Shoes Worth The Money??
I’ve done a couple of specific designer product reviews (all linked below) and they’ve been a huge hit. So for my next review, I thought I’d tackle the popular Valentino Rockstud Slide Sandals. Especially with spring in full swing (for some of the country) and summer just around the corner, these shoes will get pulled out of the closet more and more…and you may be wondering, “Are they worth the money”?? I’m breaking it all down for you below…

5 Rare Luxury Designer Dupes You NEED: Look Expensive On A Budget With These Pieces
There are quite a few style options available in the “Rockstud” lineup. They have everything from rockstud espadrilles to rockstud pumps to flats to bags and more. The Rocktud styles are iconic and easily what Valentino is known for as well as what differentiates them from other designers. The pair of shoes I bought are the slide sandals. But some of the other popular shoe styles you may recognize are the pointed toe ankle strap pump, espadrille wedge, and the jelly thong sandal (the one with the bow).

Sandals Break-In Time
Break-in time is a big deal for me…I don’t have time for uncomfortable shoes! Like you, I’m a busy mom, wife, juggling a thousand things. There was basically NO break-in time for these Valentino sandals. I wore them once or twice and they were broken in. I wouldn’t say that they’re the most comfortable sandals I’ve ever put on my feet but they’re still comfortable and the block heels make them easy to walk in, which is a win in my book!
Valentino Sandals EU Sizing and Fit
They come in Italian sizing, which can be confusing. Most stores will give you a size breakdown but I still want to give you examples in case you’re confused…
EU 36 = US 6,
EU 38.5 = US 8.5,
EU 40 = US 10
…and so on.
My usual shoe size is 7.5 so I ordered the EU 37.5 and they fit perfectly. Nordstrom’s site suggests that if you’re between sizes, to size up 1/2 a size but my experience is that they run true to size.
The sandals don’t have a ton of cushion so even after a few wears, they don’t really mold to your foot like sandals with extra cushion would. So if you order a pair of these sandals and they feel too small, I suggest returning them and ordering 1/2 a size up.
How To Find Discount Valentino Shoes
I know these shoes are VERY expensive so I wanted to share ways that you can pick up a pair for less.
These sandals rarely go on sale so finding them at online consignment, resale, and/or discount stores. You can check RueLala, Vestiare Collective, and Gilt for flash sales. Find big selections at Farfecth, Net-A-Porter, SSENSE, and MatchesFashion. Or shop places like Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, and Bloomingdale’s.
If you still don’t want to spend the money, there’s a look-a-like pair by Tuckernuck that I’ve tried and they look VERY similar! The Tuckernuck pair is also very comfortable (maybe even more comfortable)! Find more dupes below…
THE VERDICT: Are They REALLY Worth The Money???
These Valentino sandals are gorgeous, versatile, and a great piece to have in your wardrobe. If you have the budget, they’re definitely worth the money. I love these shoes, they’re easy to get on and off, and the block heel makes them easy to walk in and more comfortable to wear for an extended period of time.
That being said…I did find a look-a-like that’s almost identical and just under $200. Which is still a little expensive but if you love the look and don’t want to spend the $775, the $198 Tuckernuck pair is a better option. I personally think they’re even more comfortable than the Valentino pair. I’m linking more look-a-likes below…
Valentino Shoe Dupes & Look-A-Likes
I’m linking a few more dupes below but the Tuckernuck sandals are easily the best option I’ve tried. The color is a little different than the Valentino pair but I’d have to get out a magnifying glass to see any real differences.
What do YOU think?? Do you have a pair and love them and think they are worth the money?? Or do you think it’s still WAY too much to spend on sandals? Please share in the comments below.
