Today’s joyful Boston Jewish wedding is all about color! Hannah, who works in strategy & operations at a health tech company, and Sam, who’s getting his PhD in biomedical engineering, set out to create a vibrant celebration of their love.
They worked with their planner, Smashing The Glass Recommended Vendor Primavera Dreams, to make their colorful, floral dreams a reality – from tons of whimsical, bright flowers to asking guests to dress colorfully! Photographer Alex Paul and videographer Rachel of Olive Ewe Productions captured the day so perfectly.
And how cute is it that the venue, Boston’s Museum of Science, was also the site of the couple’s first date (way back when they were in high school)?!
There’s so much more to say about this very special Jewish wedding, but we’ll turn you over to Hannah to continue the story…
How we Met
Hannah, the bride: We met in high school – at Jewish day school in Boston, MA in 11th grade.
A Museum Wedding
We had our first formal date at the Museum of Science while we were dating in high school – they have a beautiful outdoor area for events and it was the first and only venue we visited. It’s gorgeous!
Colorful Vibes
Everything was colorful and floral. On our website we asked guests to dress colorfully – we wanted everything to be bright and fun! Our planner was Primavera Dreams.
Invitations / stationery
We used plantable seed cards for our invitations from Forever Fiances – so all of our guests could plant them after they RSVP’d!
Bridesmaids and Groomsmen
All of my bridesmaids wore different floral dresses – and all of the groomsmen wore blue floral ties from Art of the Gentleman.
Ceremony and Chuppah
Our Rabbi was the former headmaster at our high school – it was incredibly meaningful to have our wedding officiated by someone who has known us since the beginning.
Our Music Choice
For the chuppah & simcha dancing [we had a 30 minute Hora!] – Mizrach Band (two family friends) were incredible, and then for the rest of the dancing we had The Connection [a Wilson Stevens band] who totally brought the house down. Our friends and family are still talking about how amazing they were.
Flowers
Erica from O Luxe is a creative genius – we told her we wanted almost no white, and mostly bright colors (yellows, pinks, corals) and she took our vision and worked with our other decor vendors to ensure it all looked classy but whimsical.
We had oncidium orchids, snap dragons, garden roses, mini sunflowers, craspedia (my favorite) and others. For the bedeken, she hung long stemmed flowers from the tree behind the bench I was sitting on – which was such a sweet touch and a gorgeous backdrop.
Photographer and videographer
Photographer – Alex Paul brought the energy level up 10 notches – he was an absolute blast to have on our wedding day – our friends still rave about him. And the photos speak for themselves – he’s so talented and such a joy to work with! We LOVE our photos – he captured exactly what we were looking for.
Videographer – Rachel from Olive Ewe Productions is so thoughtful, fun and does not miss a beat! She was running around making sure she did not miss a single moment – and she spent time with us before the wedding to record some clips and get to know us. Could not recommend her more!
