Skin boosters

Skin boosters are usually made of verrry thin dermal fillers, such as Teosyal’s Redensity 1, and they’re rich in hyaluronic acid, and sometimes other ingredients.

The purpose of a skin booster is to boost your skin’s hydration, firmness, and radiance from the inside out whilst helping to prevent the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Skin boosters are different to Profhilo, which you may have heard about. Profhilo is often confused for skin booster, but it falls under a veil of ‘bio-remodelling’ which has a different impact on the skin.

Skin booster FAQs

Which skin booster is best?

In particular, we heart Teosyal Redensity 1.

Teosyal Redensity 1 is composed of hyaluronic acid for optimal hydration, plus 8 amino acids, 3 antioxidants, and 1 vitamin to enhance your skin, restructure, and regenerate.  Additionally, it contains lidocaine which allows you to be lovely and comfortable during the treatment.

When to use skin booster?

Skin boosters can be used throughout the year. They can be super beneficial in winter when the environment, weather conditions, heating, and so on, can make the skin prone to drying and dehydration.

Is skin booster safe?

Skin boosters are one of the safest treatments in aesthetics IF IN THE RIGHT HANDS. An experienced medical professional will ensure the procedure is performed well and all the precautions are taken.

Skin booster for under the eye?

Absolutely! Specialised skin boosters can be used in the periocular area (around the eyes) to improve skin quality. The choice of product will be discussed by your medical professional during the consultation.

Skin booster for the neck?

Yes, skin boosters can be used in the neck to improve tensile strength and elasticity as well as hydration.

Dermal fillers

Dermal fillers, in short, fill wrinkles (hence why some people call them wrinkle fillers), reshape and re-volumize facial contours that have become flat and lost their definition, usually due to the ageing process and sometimes with weight loss.

For us here at our Hertfordshire skin clinic, we use dermal fillers to maintain your natural features by replacing volume in areas that you, as a unique individual, have lost it. We do not enhance our clients beyond what looks natural for them.

We treat clients with dermal filler every single day, and the most popular treatments with our clients are cheek filer, tear trough filler, nose-to-mouth and marionette filer, and non-surgical rhinoplasty.

Dermal filler FAQs

Which dermal filler is best?

There are many brands of dermal fillers available.  At our St. Albans skin clinic, we choose those with a strong evidence base, sourced from reputable aesthetic pharmacies.

Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are our choice as they are slowly broken-down overtime by hyaluronidase- an enzyme naturally occurring in our bodies.

Are dermal filler results instant?

The results of dermal fillers are instant, although the final result is best seen after few weeks when filler gradually settles and integrates into your skin for a natural, subtle look.

Is dermal filler safe?

ALL medical-aesthetic treatments have potential risks and/or side effects. All the potential risks are discussed during your consultation, however, appropriate choice of dermal fillers for a treated area, technique, and your practitioner’s awareness of the patient’s anatomy are crucial in minimising the risks.

Also, the ability to deal with possible complications is a must for your practitioner.

What dermal filler is best for cheeks?

Cheeks can be effectively treated with dermal filler to replace volume loss and enhance facial contours.

At our skin clinic, we have a few different brands of dermal filler we use for the cheek area depending on the client, so we can offer them the best outcome; these include fillers from the Teosyal range and the Belotero range of dermal fillers.

Can I have dermal filler under eyes?

Dermal fillers can be used for under eyes to correct tear trough (hollow appearance under the eyes). This, in some cases, can also reduce dark circles. Teosyal Redensity 2 is the best to be used under the eyes.

Dermal fillers for acne scars-what does this do?

In certain patients with acne scarring, small amounts of dermal filler placed strategically can improve the appearance of scars so that the scar blends better with the surrounding skin. Patients need to be assessed for suitability for this of course.
